Occasionally, your hearing aids will stop working as well as they should. This could be due to something as simple as parts being blocked by earwax, and a simple cleaning can make them good as new. You may also find that your hearing aids need to be retuned and readjusted to suit your up to date hearing needs. Sometimes your hearing aids may have sustained more serious damage, and they need to be repaired.
If the repairs are simple, such as cleanings and adjustments, our hearing health care professionals can easily perform the repairs at our clinic. Most of the time a thorough clean and check of your hearing aids resolves hearing aid issues. Sometimes hearing aids need small repairs such as:
- Changing tubes
- Changing wax guards
- Cleaning the receivers
- Adjusting the sound settings
We repair and clean hearing aids of all makes to keep them working to their full potential. The small repairs can be done at the clinic while you wait. If the damage is more severe, the hearing aids are sent to the manufacturers for repair.
Most hearing aid manufacturers in Canada are located in Ontario. It may take between five to ten business days to receive your hearing aids back from repair. These repairs may be covered by your hearing aid warranty package.
If your hearing aid is not under warranty it may still be repaired by the manufacturer as long as it is not more than 5 years old. Since the hearing aids are made of small electronic pieces we do not recommend that you try to repair your hearing aids yourself. You will likely cause more damage to the hearing aids and it may void your "Loss & Damage" or insurance coverage.
Our hearing care professionals will give you a call when your hearing aids are ready to be picked up at the clinic.
